Stuart Leary. This is a really fabulous A4 size colour action picture of Stuart Leary the former Charlton Athletic footballer. The picture is taken from a Charles Buchan Football Monthly or similar annual of the time. Stuart Leary has provided a fabulous example of his signature in blue biro across his shorts. Leary played 376 league games for Charlton Athletic FC between 1950 and 1962 scoring an impressive 153 goals. Leary also had a long and successful career as a first-class cricketer for Kent County Cricket Club between 1951 and 1971. He scored 16,517 runs at a batting average of 31 and took 146 wickets at an average of 34. His body was discovered dead on Table Mountain in South Africa on 23 August 1988. It was believed he had died two days earlier after taking his own life. He was just 55 years old.
