Mel Charles. This is a really fine black and white postcard picture of Mel Charles the former Swansea Town footballer. The reason this ‘Tony Coleman’ postcard is such a good collectors item is that Mel is shaking the hand of his brother John (not signed) before the game between Swansea and Leeds at Elland road in 1956. Mel Charles has provided a really good example of his signature in blue ink pen. Mel Charles played 233 league games for Swansea Town between 1952 to 1959, scoring 69 goals. Charles also played for Wales 31 times. Mel sadly passed away on 24^th September 2016. Great piece of football memorabilia.
