Ray Ferris and Arthur Atkins. (Bottom right in the picture) This is a wonderful little picture (approx 3.5 x 4 inches) signed by Ray Ferris and Arthur Atkins the Birmingham City footballers. The picture depicts a scene from the FA Cup semi Final of 1951. Ferris is seen here helping Blackpool’s injured Mortensen off the field. Ferris played 90 leagues games for Birmingham between 1949 and 1953. He also won 3 full caps for Northern Ireland. Ray passed away in February 1994. Arthur Atkins He played more than 100 games for the club in all competitions between 1948 and 1954, and played a big part in the club reaching the 1950–51 FA Cup semifinal. Arthur passed away in January 1988. Dare I say this is probably a unique piece of football memorabilia and would grace any collection.
