Signed picture of Bill Dodgin the Arsenal footballer.

Signed picture of Bill Dodgin the Arsenal footballer.

Bill Dodgin. This is a fabulous near A4 size black and white portrait picture of Bill Dodgin the Arsenal footballer. This picture is taken from an edition of the Charles Buchan football magazine of the time. This item is in a terrific condition given that it is over 50 years old but there is a fine crease through the ’centre’ area of this picture and a very small tear! Bill Dodgin has provided a fine example of his signature in blue in ink. Dodgin played 191 league games for the Gunners between 1952and 1961. After retiring from the game, Dodgin became a coach first at Millwall, then at Queens Park Rangers, where he helped the club to its 1967 League Cup win Dodgin later managed Northampton Town and Brentford, winning promotion from the Fourth Division with both clubs. He then managed Northampton Town for a second, less successful spell and finally Woking before retiring. He died after a long battle with Alzheimers in 2000, aged 68. Very nice piece of Arsenal memorabilia.
